Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel 0.75 mg per tablet (2 tablets). It reduces the risk of pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It is not a regular method of contraception and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Directions for use:
Take as soon as possible after unprotected sex, and no later than 72 hours (3 days) after - the sooner it is taken, the more effective it is. Follow the pack leaflet on whether to take both tablets together or 12 hours apart. If you vomit within 3 hours of a dose, contact a pharmacist or doctor, as another dose may be needed. If your period is more than 5 days late or unusual, take a pregnancy test.
